Health and Dental Care in Illinois
CDHP (Children’s Dental Health Project) is a government funded project for which children in low income families are able to receive dental health care, regardless of financial situation. This helps to assure that children who cannot otherwise receive dental care have the opportunity for healthy teeth and gums. CDHP attempts to deal with problems such as baby-bottle tooth decay, oral diseases, and other related issues. CDHP works with numerous clinics around Illinois in attempt to provide the best care possible for children.
In addition to state-funded programs, many discount dental programs have begun sprouting up to offer families around the state considerable savings on basic and emergency dental care. Enrollment in these plans range in cost from $99.95-$139.95 for individuals and $149.95-$189.95/family for 15 months. Benefits included in these plans include:
- free or reduced six-month checkups
- Children's teeth cleaning for as low as $26
- Full upper dentures as low as $594
- access to additional discount plans for vision, prescription and chiropractic services
