Health and Dental Care in Kentucky

Kentucky is among several of the places in the United States that is involved with SCHIP (State Children’s Health Insurance Program). This is a Medicaid based program, where children under 20 years of age from low-income families are eligible to receive early and periodic screening, diagnosis and treatment (EPDST) for services such as prophylaxis, x-rays, emergency dental care, advanced procedures and in some cases, orthodontic treatment, depending on the state and family needs.
